Emily had dreamed about this day for years.
The bridal boutique was one of the most beautiful in the city. Sunlight poured through the large windows, sparkling against rows of elegant white wedding gowns. Every dress looked like it belonged in a fairy tale.
Emily smiled as she stepped in front of the mirror wearing the gown she had fallen in love with.
"It's perfect," she whispered.
Her best friend, Sophia, clapped happily.
"You look absolutely beautiful."
Even the boutique owner smiled proudly.
"I had a feeling this would be the one."
Emily turned slowly, admiring every detail of the dress.
For a moment, everything felt perfect.
Then she frowned.
"Wait..."
She paused.
Something felt strange.
At first, she thought the lace was scratching her skin.
But the feeling became stronger.
It felt like something was moving.
Emily froze.
She looked down at her arm.
"What is that?"
The uncomfortable sensation spread across her shoulder.
Her breathing became faster.
Without thinking, she lifted part of the gown.
She gasped.
Small insects were crawling along the inside of the fabric.
Emily screamed and stumbled backward.
"Get them off me!"
Sophia rushed toward her.
"Oh my goodness!"
Emily brushed at her arms as quickly as she could, trying to remove every insect.
Tears filled her eyes.
"I can't believe this!"
The boutique immediately fell silent.
Customers turned to see what had happened.
The owner hurried over.
"Emily, are you okay?"
Emily held up the dress.
"What kind of wedding dress is this?"
"There were insects all over it!"
The owner looked stunned.
His face immediately turned pale.
"That can't be right."
Emily's voice shook with anger.
"I was wearing this!"
"I'm so sorry," the owner replied.
"I've owned this boutique for years, and nothing like this has ever happened."
Emily tried to calm herself, but she was still trembling.
"I trusted this place."
"So did hundreds of other brides," the owner answered quietly.
"That's why I know something isn't right."
He carefully examined the gown.
The insects were only inside one section of the dress.
The rest looked perfectly clean.
The owner frowned.
"This doesn't make any sense."
Sophia looked around the boutique.
"Could someone have done this?"
The owner's expression suddenly changed.
He turned toward the security office.
"Wait."
"If someone tampered with the dress..."
He pointed toward the CCTV monitor.
"...the cameras would have recorded it."
Everyone followed him.
The room became completely silent as he prepared to review the footage.
Emily stood nearby, still wiping tears from her face.
Her dream dress now felt like a nightmare.
The owner took a deep breath.
"If someone did this on purpose," he said, "we're going to find out exactly who."
Every customer stared at the screen.
No one spoke.
The video began to play.
Whatever appeared next could explain everything.
And it might reveal that this wasn't an accident at all.
