The Unfolding Truth

Arrogant Bride Slaps Elderly Woman At Luxury Red-Carpet Wedding banner

Brandon: Mrs. Whitmore, I am begging you! If my boss finds out about this, I’ll lose my license!

Victoria: Your boss is already on line one, Brandon. Should I put him on speakerphone?

Brandon: No! Please don't!

Victoria pressed a button on her phone, and a stern voice echoed across the courtyard.

CEO Davis: Brandon Miller, is it true you put your hands on Mrs. Whitmore at the estate?

Brandon: Sir! It was an accident! I didn't recognize her!

CEO Davis: It doesn't matter who she was! You assaulted an elderly woman on camera!

Brandon: Mr. Davis, please, give me one chance to explain!

CEO Davis: You are terminated immediately. Security is clearing out your office desk right now.

The call disconnected with a sharp beep, leaving Brandon staring blankly at the ground in complete horror.

Chloe: Brandon? What does he mean, terminated? You're supposed to buy us our house next month!

Brandon: Shut up, Chloe! This is all your fault!

Chloe: My fault?! You were the one who pushed her to the ground!

Brandon: Because you screamed at me to get rid of her!

Mrs. Whitmore: Look at how fast the love fades when the money vanishes.

Mrs. Whitmore turned to the crowd of stunned guests, holding up her hand gracefully.

Mrs. Whitmore: Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for the disruption to your evening.

Guest in Green: Mrs. Whitmore... we had no idea they were treating people like this!

Mrs. Whitmore: Valet will bring all of your vehicles to the front gate. Please enjoy a safe drive home.

Guests immediately began walking off the lawn, murmuring in hushed, embarrassed tones as they passed the kneeling bride.

Chloe: Don't leave! Please, everyone stay! We still have the cake!

Guest 2: I can't believe I came all the way from Chicago for this mess.

Guest 3: Did you see how hard she slapped that poor lady? Disgusting.

Chloe: Come back! Brandon, do something! Stop them from leaving!

Brandon: Stop them? I don't even have a job anymore, Chloe!

Chloe: We still have my father's loan! We can host the reception at a hotel downtown!

Victoria stepped forward, pulling a blue legal file from her leather bag.

Victoria: About that loan, Chloe...

Chloe: What about it?! The money was already wired last week!

Victoria: The loan was secured against your father's auto repair shop as collateral.

Chloe's Father: Wait... what are you saying, young lady?

Victoria: Since the loan terms were breached due to fraud and assault, Whitmore Bank has issued an immediate recall of the principal balance.

Chloe’s father clutched his chest, stumbling backward toward a stone pillar.

Chloe's Father: A recall?! I don't have two hundred thousand dollars sitting in cash!

Victoria: Then foreclosure proceedings on the repair shop will begin on Monday morning at nine o'clock.

Chloe: No! Not my father's business! He worked thirty years for that shop!

Mrs. Whitmore: Then perhaps you should have thought about his thirty years of hard work before you slapped me across the face, child.

Chloe began to sob uncontrollably, her expensive lace veil dragging through the dirty gravel of the red carpet.

Chloe: Mrs. Whitmore, I'm sorry! I am so, so sorry! I'll get on my knees and apologize properly!

Mrs. Whitmore: An apology born out of suffering consequences isn't real remorse, Chloe. It's just regret that you got caught.

Victoria: Security team, please escort Mr. Miller and Miss Taylor off the property immediately.

Brandon: Wait! Let me get my suit jacket from the dressing room!

Security Guard: Move along, pal. You can pick up your stuff at the front gate later.
