Eleanor: You can't take this house from us! My late husband built this estate thirty years ago!
Lawyer Hayes: Your late husband leveraged this estate to secure a corporate loan from Vance Financial, Mrs. Sterling. A loan that went into default three weeks ago.
Eleanor: We applied for an extension!
Lawyer Hayes: And as the sole owner of Vance Financial, Mr. Marcus Vance has officially denied your extension request.
A moving van pulled up to the curb behind the police cars, followed by a team of men in dark uniforms carrying thick wooden crates and packing boxes.
Eleanor: Who are these people?! What are they doing on my lawn?!
Chloe: They are here to pack my personal belongings, Eleanor. And to help you clear out yours.
Eleanor: Clear out my belongings?! This is my home!
Marcus: The eviction notice was filed with the sheriff's department two hours ago. You have until six o'clock this evening to collect your personal clothing and leave the premises.
Eleanor: You can't do this to an elderly woman! It's illegal!
Lawyer Hayes: It is entirely legal, ma'am. Here is the court order signed by Judge Roberts. If you are still on the property past six, you will be arrested for criminal trespassing.
Eleanor clutched her head, her face turning pale as the reality of her situation finally broke through her arrogance.
Eleanor: Where am I supposed to go?! All my credit cards are linked to Oliver's firm account!
Chloe: Then I suggest you find a cheap motel, Eleanor. You always told me that poor people just needed to work harder. Now you can try it yourself.
Eleanor: You cruel, heartless monster... I treated you like a daughter!
Chloe: You treated me like a maid. You told Oliver not to leave marks so the neighbors wouldn't see what kind of family you really were.
Chloe turned away from the hysterical woman, taking her father's arm as they walked back inside the spacious grand hall of the mansion.
Chloe: Father, tell the movers to start in the master bedroom. My mother's jewelry box is still locked in the wall safe.
Marcus: Right away, sweetheart. Are you doing okay? Your cheek looks terrible.
Chloe: It hurts, Dad. But for the first time in five years, I can actually breathe.
Marcus: I'm sorry I let you stay here so long, Chloe. I wanted to pull you out of this house the second I saw the first mark on your arm.
Chloe: If you pulled me out early, Oliver would have gotten away with half my inheritance and walked away clean. Now he's going to prison, and his mother has nothing left.
Marcus: You're stronger than I ever gave you credit for, Chloe. Just like your mother was.
Chloe: I had a good teacher, Dad. Now let's finish this so we can close this chapter forever.
