The Confrontation At Sea

Julian: You can't do this to me! I have rights!

Officer Vance: You have the right to remain silent, Mr. Sterling. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court.

Chloe: Take your hands off me! Do you know how much this coat costs?!

Captain Hayes: That coat was purchased using Mrs. Sterling's stolen credit card, Miss Dupont. It is now evidence.

The security officers snapped heavy steel handcuffs around Julian's and Chloe's wrists as passengers watched from the upper balconies.

Passenger 1: Is that the owner's son?

Passenger 2: He tried to steal her whole company! How evil can someone be?

Julian: Mom! Look at me! I'm begging you!

Eleanor walked slowly toward her son, stepping close enough to look directly into his teary eyes.

Eleanor: When your father and I started this business, we slept in a tiny two-room apartment in Brooklyn.

Julian: I know... you told me a thousand times.

Eleanor: We worked sixteen hours a day so you would never have to worry about rent, medical bills, or tuition.

Julian: And I appreciated it, Mom! I really did!

Eleanor: No, you didn't, Julian. You thought the money made you special. You thought it gave you the right to look down on everyone else.

Julian: I was just trying to keep up with my friends!

Eleanor: You threw away your mother's love for bottle service in Miami nightclubs and fake luxury lifestyle posts.

Chloe: Officer, please! I was just a victim here! Julian used me!

Eleanor: You were yelling at an older woman five minutes ago, calling her a peasant and demanding she be removed from her own ship.

Chloe: I didn't know who you were!

Eleanor: That's the problem, my dear. You only treat people with respect when you think they have money.

Captain Hayes: Take them down to the brig, officers.

Julian: Mom! Don't let them lock me up! Mom!

Julian screamed as the officers escorted him down the sunlit corridor, his boots dragging against the polished white deck.

Chloe sobbed loudly, trying to cover her face with her cuffed hands as guests snapped photos with their smartphones.

Eleanor stood tall on the main deck, adjusting her dark navy blazer as the sea breeze blew her soft white hair.

Captain Hayes: Are you alright, Mrs. Sterling?

Eleanor: I am fine, Captain Hayes. Better than I have been in a long time.

Captain Hayes: What would you like us to do with the private VIP suite?

Eleanor: Clean it out. Donate all of Julian's clothes to the local charity shelter when we dock in Nassau.

Captain Hayes: Understood, ma'am.

Eleanor: And Captain?

Captain Hayes: Yes, Mrs. Sterling?

Eleanor: Set our course for London. It's time I took control of our European operations again.
