The Eviction Notice

The heavy glass entrance doors slammed shut behind the disgraced Sterlings, leaving the party hall in absolute silence.

Arthur turned away from the door, his stern expression instantly softening as he looked at Clara and little Lily.

Arthur: Are you two alright, my precious girls?

Clara: We are now, Dad. Thank you for coming so fast.

Arthur: I came the second my security team alerted me to what was happening in the main hall.

Lily reached out her small arms toward her grandfather, smiling through her dried tears.

Lily: Grandpa! You made the mean people go away!

Arthur: I sure did, sweetheart. Nobody gets to make my favorite girl cry on her birthday.

Arthur gently wrapped his strong arm around Clara and lifted Lily into his other arm, holding them tight against his chest.

Clara: I tried to give them a chance, Dad. For Julian's sake, I really wanted us to get along.

Arthur: I know you did, Clara. You have your mother's kind heart. But bullies only understand one language—force.

Clara: I think they understood today loud and clear.

Arthur: Oh, they haven't seen half of it yet. Harrison is waiting in the executive car outside with the rest of the legal filings.

Clara: What other legal filings?

Arthur: A full lawsuit for emotional distress, property damage, and defamation against Victoria and Chloe Sterling.

Clara: Dad... you really don't mess around, do you?

Arthur: When it comes to my family? Never.

The remaining guests in the hall began softly clapping, which quickly grew into a loud wave of applause across the room.

An elderly businesswoman stepped forward from the crowd, smiling warmly at Clara.

Guest 4: Miss Vance, we are so sorry for how those arrogant fools treated you today. You handled yourself with incredible grace.

Clara: Thank you, Mrs. Gable. I appreciate that.

Arthur: Attention, everyone! This party is not over! We are moving the celebration upstairs to the Grand Presidential Suite!

The crowd cheered happily as servers immediately began clearing the mess from the floor and bringing out fresh trays of champagne and gourmet treats.

Arthur: Let's get you cleaned up, Clara. My personal stylist has a new silk dress waiting for you in the suite.

Clara: Thanks, Dad. I think I've had enough cake on my face for one lifetime.
