The Uninvited Guest

David strode out of the study with long, purposeful strides, his boots clicking sharply against the marble foyer tiles.

David: Emily! You need to get in here right this second and explain what this is!

Emily: There is no need to shout through the house like a savage, David. Some of us are trying to relax.

David: Relax? You forged my signature on an international boarding school enrollment form behind my back!

Emily: I did what any responsible stepmother would do for a child who clearly needs specialized discipline.

David: She needs her father, not a ruthless schemer trying to steal her inheritance out from under her nose!

Emily: Inheritance? Oh, please. That trust fund has been draining our accounts for years with medical bills and tutors.

David: Those are expenses for my daughter's care! Expenses that my late wife provided for explicitly in her will!

A fair-skinned American woman in a wedding dress stands behind them, covering her mouth in disbelief as she watches the scene unfold.

SFX: Shocked gasp

Emily: Well, your late wife isn't running this household anymore. I am your legally wedded wife now.

David: Being my wife doesn't give you the right to banish my child to a correctional facility in another state!

Emily: It's a prestigious academy! It will teach her how to behave properly instead of crying over every little thing.

Lily: You're a liar! You just want me gone so you can take all of mommy's jewelry and money!

Emily: Quiet, you ungrateful brat! Adults are speaking about serious family business here.

David stepped forward, placing his broad shoulders directly between his wife and the frightened little girl.

David: Don't you ever speak to my daughter like that again, Emily. Your custody rights end today.

Can David legally remove her from the estate before she manages to drain the remaining family assets?

Emily: You can't remove me from anything, David. My name is on the deed to this mansion too.
