Brandon: Mr. Davis, please! Give us a chance to clear this up! The wedding is fully paid for!
Bride's Father: Paid for with stolen money from Chairman Sterling's bank! Do you think I want my family name dragged through the mud when the federal marshals show up?!
Chloe: Brandon, you monster! You ruined my dream wedding!
Chloe ripped her diamond tiara off her head and slammed it onto the floor, right next to Maya's spilled clutch purse. The tiara broke into two pieces against the white marble.
Harrison: Thomas, where are the marshals?
Thomas: They are entering the lower lobby right now, Chairman.
Two city police officers and three federal marshals walked quickly into the hall, their heavy boots thudding against the marble floor.
Federal Marshal: Arthur Sterling? Brandon Sterling?
Groom's Father: Yes... yes, that's us.
Federal Marshal: You are both under arrest for grand larceny, corporate fraud, and wire fraud. Stand up and place your hands behind your backs.
Brandon: No! Wait! Today is my wedding day! You can't arrest a groom on his wedding day!
Federal Marshal: Turn around, son. Don't make this difficult.
The marshals pulled Brandon to his feet and clicked heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists. Arthur didn't even resist; he slumped forward and let the officers cuff him in front of his entire family and friends.
Brandon: Maya! Tell them to stop! Please! Tell your father to drop the charges!
Maya looked down at Brandon, her face calm and unbothered.
Maya: I told you earlier, Brandon. You don't get to disgrace people and expect them to protect you.
Brandon: I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I'll apologize on my knees! Just don't let them take me to jail!
Maya: The time for apologies was before you put your hands on me.
The marshals began marching Brandon and Arthur down the long aisle toward the exit doors. The guests stood in complete shock, pulling back their chair legs to let the officers pass.
Chloe's Father: Everyone listen to me! This event is canceled! Clear out of this hall immediately!
The guests quickly gathered their coats and purses, rushing toward the side exits to avoid the news cameras that were already gathering outside the grand front entrance.
Within ten minutes, the massive white hall was completely empty, except for Harrison, Maya, and Harrison's security team.
Harrison gently placed his arm around Maya's shoulders, walking her over to a velvet sofa near the archway.
Harrison: Let's get you upstairs to change into comfortable clothes, sweetheart. My medical team is waiting to check your shoulder.
Maya: Thanks, Dad. I'm just glad it's finally over.
Harrison: It's only over for us, Maya. For Brandon and his father, their nightmare is just beginning.
