Exposing The Stolen Inheritance

He angry on Wealthy Stepmother After Catching Her Striking His Wife In The Kitchen banner

Mark picked up his home phone from the living room wall and dialed his family's probate attorney.

Mark: Mr. Vance, I need you at my house immediately.

Attorney Vance: Mark? What's going on? It's after business hours.

Mark: Evelyn just physically assaulted my wife inside my home.

Attorney Vance: Good heavens! Is Sarah alright?

Mark: She has a black eye and a split lip. We are heading to the emergency room in twenty minutes after you get here.

Attorney Vance: I am leaving my office right now. Do not talk to Evelyn or her legal team under any circumstances.

Thirty minutes later, Attorney Vance walked into the living room carrying a thick black leather briefcase.

Attorney Vance: Mark, before we file a police report, you need to see what I uncovered in your father's estate records this morning.

Mark: What did you find?

Attorney Vance: Evelyn has been committing grand larceny against your father's trust fund for the past three years.

Sarah: What do you mean?

Attorney Vance: Before your father passed away, he deposited two million dollars into a private trust specifically designated for Mark and his future children.

Mark: I know about that trust. Evelyn claimed the money was tied up in corporate debt.

Attorney Vance: That was a complete lie. She forged your father's signature six months before he died and transferred the funds to an offshore bank account in Bermuda.

Mark: She stole my father's money?!

Attorney Vance: She didn't just steal it. She used it as collateral to secure a mortgage on her penthouse uptown.

Sarah: So all that money she boasts about... it's not even hers?

Attorney Vance: Not a single dime of it. In fact, she is completely broke without your father's estate funds.

Mark: That's why she's been coming here and harassing us! She's trying to intimidate us so we don't look into the trust!

Attorney Vance: Exactly. She knew that once Emma turned six months old, the trust would trigger an automatic financial audit by the state bank.

Sarah: Today is Emma's six-month milestone...

Attorney Vance: Which means the bank's forensic accountants flagged the missing two million dollars at eight o'clock this morning.

Mark: So she knew she was about to get caught!

Attorney Vance: She was desperate. She came here today hoping to force Sarah into signing a liability waiver regarding the estate.

Sarah: She did try to make me sign a stack of papers! She said it was for Emma's health insurance!

Mark: That miserable, scheming snake!

Attorney Vance: Did you sign anything, Sarah?

Sarah: No! I told her I wouldn't sign anything without Mark reading it first. That's when she lost her temper and hit me!

Mark: She attacked my wife because she couldn't trick her into signing away our rights!

Attorney Vance: This changes everything, Mark. We aren't just dealing with a domestic assault case anymore.

Mark: What are we dealing with?

Attorney Vance: Federal wire fraud, embezzlement, forgery, and felony physical assault against a nursing mother.

Mark: She is going to spend the rest of her life behind bars.
