The Fake Panic

The echoes of the devastating fall faded slowly into the vast, expensive silence of the multi-level penthouse apartment.

Two fair-skinned American women stand on the upper landing. The woman in a white suit pretends to panic while making excuses.

Voice (Woman in White - BOLD & SHOCKED): "She slipped! I was trying to stop her!"

Victoria: Oh, my goodness! Someone please call an ambulance right now!

Elena: Victoria, what on earth just happened down there?! Did you push her?!

Victoria: Are you blind, Elena? She lost her footing on the top step and tumbled right over the edge!

Elena: Her body looks completely broken. We need to go down there and check if she's breathing.

Victoria: Don't touch her! We might disturb the scene before security arrives to verify the accident.

Elena: You look entirely too calm for someone whose stepdaughter just plunged down a flight of stairs.

Victoria: I am in shock, Elena. My heart is beating out of my chest from sheer terror.

Victoria adjusted the cuffs of her immaculate white suit, her expression shifting instantly from manufactured panic back to cold calculation.

Elena: If she didn't survive this fall, the entire estate defaults straight to the executive board.

Victoria: Exactly. Which means our corporate lawsuit and asset freezing issues are finally resolved.

Elena: Just make sure the security cameras in the foyer were toggled off before she fell.

Victoria: I disabled the cloud feed an hour ago. There is no digital footprint left behind.

Up on the landing, the two women exchanged a quiet, knowing smirk while looking down at the silent foyer below.

Can a person survive such a catastrophic fall, or has the penthouse become a quiet tomb?
