The Whispers In The Hall

She Called Her Daughter Street Trash Until The Secret Broke The Family banner

Victoria: Get me up! Someone help me up right now!

Two servants rushed forward, nervously helping Victoria back to her feet as she dusted off her green satin dress.

Arthur: What on earth is going on in here?

Victoria: Arthur! Thank goodness you came down! That ungrateful girl just assaulted me in our own living room!

Arthur: Sarah, is this true? Did you put your hands on my sister?

Sarah: Ask her why I did it, Arthur. Ask her what she said to your granddaughter.

Arthur: Victoria, what did you say to Lily?

Victoria: I told the truth! That child doesn't belong in this family, and neither does Sarah!

Sarah: She grabbed my daughter's arm and called her street trash, Arthur. In front of all your guests.

Arthur: Victoria! Is that true?

Victoria: She was touching the antique vases! I was protecting our family heirlooms!

Lily: I didn't touch anything, Grandpa! I was just waiting for Mommy!

Sarah: My daughter was standing quietly by the stairs. Your sister attacked her because she knows her time in this house is running out.

Victoria: Running out? This is my brother's home! I have lived here for fifteen years!

Sarah: You've lived here on stolen money, Victoria. And everyone in this room is about to find out where that money came from.

Victoria: Arthur, make her leave! Call security immediately!

Arthur: Nobody is calling security until I get an explanation. Sarah, what secret were you talking about?

Sarah: Ask her about the family trust fund, Arthur. Ask her why the main offshore account was drained last week.

Victoria's face turned pale. She clutched her pearl necklace, taking a step backward.

Victoria: She's lying! She's trying to turn you against your own blood!

Sarah: Am I lying, Victoria? Then why did your personal accountant call my legal counsel two hours ago offering a settlement?

Arthur: Settlement? What settlement?

Victoria: Arthur, don't listen to her! She's trying to manipulate you!

Sarah: Five million dollars, Arthur. She offered me five million dollars from your company reserves if I signed a non-disclosure agreement and left the state with Lily today.

Arthur: Five million dollars? Victoria, where would you even get access to five million dollars from company reserves?

Victoria: I don't know what she's talking about! She forged those claims!

Sarah: My lawyer is standing at the front gates right now with the bank statements. Should I have him brought in?

Arthur stared at his sister, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Arthur: Bring him in, Sarah. Bring him in right now.

Victoria: Arthur, no! You can't let strangers inspect our private family accounts!

Sarah: He isn't a stranger, Victoria. He's the court-appointed auditor for the Sterling estate.

Victoria: Court-appointed? Since when?

Sarah: Since my late husband passed away and left his half of the estate directly to Lily.

Victoria: That child isn't his legal heir! The will was never finalized!

Sarah: The will was finalized three days before his accident. And you knew it.

Arthur: Wait... David finalized his will before he died?

Sarah: Yes, Arthur. And Victoria hid the original documents in her private safe so she could keep control of the money.

Victoria: That is slander! I will sue you for every penny you have!

Sarah: You don't have a lawyer left on your payroll who will take this case, Victoria. They all read the audit report this morning.

Arthur: Victoria... look me in the eye. Did you hide my son's will?

Victoria opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. The room was deathly quiet as every guest watched her breakdown.

Sarah: Tell him, Victoria. Tell your brother what you did to his son's legacy.

Victoria: I did it to protect the family! David was out of his mind when he wrote that document!

Arthur: My son was completely clear-headed! How could you do this to his child?!

Victoria: Because that child's mother is nobody! She came from nothing!

Sarah: I came from an honest family, Victoria. Something you know nothing about.
