The Fall Of Julian Vance

She Screamed At Him In His Penthouse Until She Found The Hidden Medical Record banner

Julian: You... you recorded everything?

Veronica: Over four thousand people were watching the stream, Julian. Including Detective Miller from the financial crimes unit.

Julian reached into his pocket, frantically pulling out his phone, but the screen was already flashing with fifty missed calls from his corporate legal team.

The study door burst open as three armed police officers stepped into the room, led by Detective Miller holding a federal warrant.

Detective Miller: Julian Vance, step away from the lady and put your hands behind your head!

Julian: Detective, this is a private family dispute! My sister-in-law is trespassing on my property!

Detective Miller: We watched the entire interaction on the live broadcast, Mr. Vance. We saw the assault, we heard the confession regarding the forged death certificate, and we have the audio of you threatening a witness.

Veronica: Check his inner jacket pocket, Detective. The fake passports and the DNA test results are right there.

An officer stepped forward, grabbing Julian's arm and forcing him against the glass wall before pulling the documents out of his tuxedo coat.

Officer: Got them, sir. Three fake passports and a forged Swiss medical trust agreement.

Julian: My lawyers will have this entire search thrown out of court before midnight! You have no right to touch those papers!

Detective Miller: Save it for the judge, Vance. You are under arrest for grand larceny, corporate fraud, illegal confinement, and aggravated assault.

The officer pulled Julian's arms back, snapping a heavy pair of steel handcuffs around his wrists with a sharp, double click.

Julian turned his head back toward Veronica, his face pale and contorted with anger as he was pushed toward the door.

Julian: You ruined everything, Veronica! You destroyed this family's future for nothing!

Veronica: I didn't ruin anything, Julian. You ruined yourself the day you decided money was worth more than my sister's memory.

The officers led Julian out of the study and down the long, luxurious hallway of the penthouse he had spent five years lying to keep.

Veronica followed them out into the living room, where Martha was standing near the sofa, holding little Toby in her arms.

Toby looked up at Veronica, his tear-filled eyes wide with confusion as he watched his father being led away in chains.

Toby: Auntie Veronica... where is Daddy going?

Veronica walked over, dropping to her knees on the soft rug and taking the young boy into a gentle, warm embrace.

Veronica: Daddy has to go away for a long time, sweetheart. But you are going to be okay now. I promise you.

Toby: Is Mommy really gone?

Veronica held him tight, tears finally slipping down her red, bruised cheek as she looked around the quiet, empty penthouse.

Veronica: Yes, honey... Mommy is gone. But we are finally going to bring her home and give her the peace she deserves.
