The crystal chandeliers cast a bright, golden light across the grand ballroom of the Bellevue Hotel.
Victoria: Watch where you are walking with those drinks!
Clara: I am so sorry, ma'am. Let me wipe that off for you right away.
Victoria: Get out of my way!
A loud, sharp crack echoed through the room as Victoria swung her hand, slapping Clara across the face.
Clara took a step back, her cheek burning bright red under the ballroom lights.
Victoria: Look at what you did to my gown! Do you have any idea how much this blue silk dress costs?
Clara: Pick that up.
Victoria: What did you just say to me?
Clara: I said pick up the glass you knocked off my tray.
Victoria: I own people like you! You are nothing but a disposable server!
Victoria raised her hand to strike her again, but Clara moved faster than anyone expected.
A heavy thud rang out as Clara's right fist connected cleanly with Victoria's jaw, sending the heiress tumbling backward onto the polished marble floor.
The entire room fell completely silent. Guests froze with their champagne glasses raised in mid-air.
Clara slowly reached down to her left hand, adjusting a massive, sparkling pink diamond ring on her ring finger.
Clara: You don't even own the dress you're wearing.
Victoria scrambled back on her hands and knees, staring up in utter disbelief at the woman in the server uniform.
Victoria: You... you just punched me! Security! Call the police immediately!
Clara: Go ahead. Tell them to bring the estate lawyers while they're at it.
Victoria's eyes widened as her gaze locked onto the pink diamond shining under the bright lights, and the color slowly drained from her face.
