Claire: Lily, sweetie... you saved us all tonight.
Claire knelt down on the soft rug, pulling her daughter into a tight, warm hug while wiping tears from her eyes.
Lily: Did I do something bad, Mommy? The old man was yelling.
Claire: No, baby. You did something wonderful. You told the truth.
Julian: She did more than tell the truth, Claire. She returned what was taken from us six years ago.
Julian walked over and knelt down beside them, setting the blue folder carefully on his knee.
Julian: Tomorrow morning, I'm filing the papers with the county probate judge. Your medical treatment fund is completely secured, Claire.
Claire: I can finally pay off the hospital bills?
Julian: You'll never have to worry about a bill again. The entire family estate is being restored to its rightful heirs.
Lily: Can we go home now, Uncle Julian? I don't like this big house.
Julian: Yes, Lily. We're going home right now.
Julian stood up and turned to face the remaining thirty guests, who were standing around the candlelit table in complete silence.
Julian: Dinner is over, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for attending. My lawyer will be in touch with the board of directors tomorrow at nine sharp.
The guests quietly began grabbing their coats and evening bags, murmuring in low voices as they filed out into the cool night air.
Claire: What happens to the mansion now, Julian?
Julian: We sell it. We sell it and put every single dollar into the children's trust fund, just like Dad wanted.
Julian picked up the little brass key from the floor, holding it up in his palm before slipping it into his jacket pocket.
Julian: Let's go home, family.
