The Fall of Victoria Vance

The Secret Falling On Grand Staircase banner

Victoria: Get your hands off me! I built this estate! I managed this family's public image for six years!

Detective Ross: You are under arrest for attempted murder, felony bigamy, grand larceny, and corporate fraud.

Julian: I am cooperating! I'll give you everything on her! I have the original forged documents saved on my laptop!

Victoria: You coward! You weak, pathetic snake!

Julian: She forced me to wipe the server, Detective! She threatened to expose my gambling debts if I didn't help her delete the balcony video!

Detective Ross: You can both explain your roles to the state prosecutor. Cuff them.

The metal handcuffs clicked shut around Victoria's wrists, pinning her arms tightly behind her red dress.

She struggled against the state trooper's firm grip, her hair falling out of its neat bun as she was forced toward the library doors.

Victoria: Clara! Look at me! You think your father loved you?! He hated how weak you were!

Clara: My father loved me enough to protect me from you even after he was gone, Victoria.

Victoria: You won't last six months running the family business! You don't have the stomach for it!

Clara: I survived your push on the marble stairs. I can handle a corporate board meeting.

Victoria let out a shrill scream of rage as the troopers dragged her down the grand hallway, her heels scraping against the polished stone floor until the front doors slammed shut.

Julian whimpered quietly as the second trooper led him out, his head hanging low in deep humiliation.

The grand library went quiet, the soft morning sunlight streaming through the tall stained-glass windows and filling the room with warm, peaceful light.

Arthur leaned down, gently placing his hands on Clara's shoulders as she looked around her father's study.

Arthur: It's over, Clara. They're never coming back here.

Clara: It really is over... the house feels quiet for the first time in years.

Arthur: Let's get you back home to rest. The doctor made me promise you wouldn't stay up all morning.

Clara: Wait... take me out to the garden terrace first, Arthur. I want to see the sun come up over the lake.

Arthur wheeled her slowly out through the french doors onto the wide stone terrace overlooking the water.

The morning breeze blew softly through her hair, carrying the sweet scent of blooming white roses from the gardens below.

Clara rested her hand gently over her stomach, feeling a tiny, firm kick from inside.

Clara: Did you feel that, Arthur?

Arthur dropped to one knee on the terrace stone, placing his hand over hers with a bright, tearful smile.

Arthur: I felt it. Strong little kick.

Clara: Our baby is going to grow up right here in a home full of truth, love, and real family.

Arthur: And no one will ever break this family apart again.
