The Separation At The Orphanage

The Wealthy Woman Slapped A Homeless Girl Until She Opened Her Leather Wallet banner

Victoria: How did you end up on the streets, Lily?

Lily: The adoption family took me away when I was six.

Victoria: What family? Who took you?

Lily: The Miller family. They moved me to another state.

Victoria: I spent thousands of dollars on private investigators to track down the Millers!

Lily: They weren't nice people, Victoria.

Victoria: What did they do to you?

Lily: When Mr. Miller lost his job, they lost their house to foreclosure.

Victoria: Foreclosure? They lost everything?

Lily: They left me at a state shelter and never came back.

Victoria: Oh, my sweet girl... my poor baby sister.

Lily: I kept the wallet under my mattress so nobody would take it.

Victoria: The wallet I gave you before they separated us?

Lily: You said if I ever got lost, I should keep the picture safe inside it.

Victoria: I remember. I saved up my allowance for a whole month to buy that little leather pouch.

Lily: I never let anyone touch it. Not once.

Victoria: And today... today I struck you for holding it.

Lily: It hurt, Victoria.

Victoria: I will never forgive myself for what I just did. Never.

Lily: Why didn't you recognize me?

Victoria: You were so small when we were separated. You were just a toddler.

Lily: I remembered your green eyes. But you looked so angry today.

Victoria: I was blind. I was so caught up in my wealthy life and my stupid estate that I forgot how to be human.

Lily: I thought you were going to call the police on me.

Victoria: I would rather die than let anyone hurt you again.

Lily: Are you really my sister?

Victoria: Yes. I am Victoria. Look at the photo again.

Victoria held out the old black-and-white picture with trembling hands.

Lily: That's you... in the dress with the white collar.

Victoria: And that's you, wearing the little bow I tied in your hair.

Lily: I still have that bow in my pocket.

Lily pulled a frayed red ribbon from her tattered dress pocket.

Victoria covered her face and wept silently on the floor.

Victoria: I searched for you for so long, and you walked right through my front door.

Lily: I didn't know this was your home. I was just walking down the big houses road looking for help.

Victoria: It isn't my home anymore, Lily. It's our home now.
