Victoria: Let go of me! Do you have any idea who my father is?!
Security Guard: Mr. Sterling's orders, ma'am. You need to step outside right now.
Victoria: David! You can't do this to me! We have a signed prenuptial agreement!
David: That agreement became toilet paper the moment you laid a hand on my son, Victoria.
Victoria: I was going to be the mistress of this estate!
David: You were never going to own a single brick of this house.
The guards hauled Victoria down the front steps, her high heels scraping against the granite as the heavy oak doors slammed shut behind her.
Inside the quiet hall, Sarah wiped her red, swollen eyes with the sleeve of her plain grey apron.
Sarah: Mr. Sterling... I am so sorry for causing a scene in your home.
David: You didn't cause a scene, Sarah. You protected my child when no one else was watching.
Sarah: I couldn't let her hurt little Timmy. He's so small and innocent.
David: You have more courage in your little finger than Victoria has in her entire body.
Little Timmy buried his face deep into David's grey suit jacket, his small hands clutching the lapels tightly.
Timmy: Daddy... the mean lady screamed at Sarah.
David: I know, buddy. The mean lady is gone now. She's never coming back.
Timmy: Can Sarah stay with us forever?
David looked up from his son's sweet face, his eyes meeting Sarah's startled gaze.
David: Sarah has been taking care of this house for two years, Timmy. She's not going anywhere.
Sarah: Mr. Sterling... Miss Victoria said she was going to call the police on me for assault.
David: Let her try. My legal team will have her tied up in court for the next ten years.
Sarah: I'm just a housemaid. I don't have money for lawyers or court fees.
David: You won't pay a single dime. I cover all expenses for the people who take care of my family.
Sarah: Thank you, sir. You're very kind to me.
David: Sarah... there's something about my late wife's estate trust that you need to know.
Sarah blinked in confusion, holding her hands together in front of her apron.
Sarah: Your late wife? Mrs. Catherine?
David: Before Catherine passed away three years ago, she wrote a specific clause into her final will and testament.
Sarah: A clause about the house?
David: A clause about Timmy's primary guardian if anything ever happened to me.
Sarah: Why are you telling me this, Mr. Sterling?
David: Because Catherine didn't name her sister Victoria as the backup guardian. She explicitly banned her from ever taking custody of our son.
Sarah: Miss Victoria was Mrs. Catherine's sister?!
David: Yes. And Victoria has been trying to get her hands on Timmy's inheritance trust fund ever since Catherine died.
Sarah gasped, taking a small step back as the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place.
Sarah: She didn't want to marry you because she loved you... she wanted the trust fund!
David: Exactly. And she thought if she married me, she could force you out and take total control of this estate.
Sarah: That's terrible... how could a aunt be so cruel to her own nephew?
David: Greed turns people into monsters, Sarah. But today, her little game comes to an end.
