The organ music echoed softly through the packed church venue. White rose petals lined the wooden pews, and daylight streamed through the stained-glass windows. Elena stood at the altar, her hands shaking as she held the edge of her veil. What was supposed to be the happiest morning of her life had turned into a total nightmare before she even walked down the aisle.
Elena: Look at my dress, Marcus... just look at it.
Marcus: Elena, what happened? How did wet mud get all over your hem?
Elena: It wasn't an accident. Someone went into the bridal room while I was in the restroom and dragged the train through the muddy flowerbed outside.
Marcus: Who would do something like that right before our vows?
Elena: I didn't know until two minutes ago. Someone slipped this paper note into my bouquet.
Elena unfolded a small, wrinkled piece of paper with trembling fingers. The guests in the front pews leaned forward, whispering in shock as they noticed the dark brown mud stains covering the bottom half of her white dress.
Elena: I KNOW THE SECRET! YOUR MOTHER DID THIS TO MY DRESS!
Patricia: YOU HAVE NO PROOF, DEAR!
Patricia sat in the front row, wearing an expensive light blue suit. She smirked arrogantly, crossing her legs while holding a silver lace fan. But as Elena held up the note, Patricia's smile quickly faded into total surprise.
Marcus: Mother... what did you just say?
Patricia: I said she's making up stories to hide her own clumsiness, Marcus! She probably dropped it herself!
Elena: This note is written on your personal stationery, Patricia. It has your monogram right at the top.
Patricia: Anyone could have taken a piece of paper from my purse!
Marcus turned slowly toward his mother, his face turning pale before flushing with explosive, fierce rage. Heavy, rapid footsteps echoed across the altar steps as he marched straight toward the front pew.
Marcus: You went too far this time, Mother. You ruined her dream day.
Patricia: Marcus, don't you dare speak to me in that tone in front of our family!
Marcus didn't stop. He stepped directly into her space, his chest heaving with furious breath. The entire congregation gasped as Marcus raised his hand and slapped his mother forcefully across the face with a loud, violent crack.
Patricia: YOU SLAPPED YOUR OWN MOTHER?!
Marcus: YOU SHOULD NOT BE DOING LIKE THAT! GET OUT OF MY WEDDING!
Patricia stumbled back against the wooden pew, clutching her stinging, reddened cheek in absolute horror and embarrassment. Gasps rippled through the rows of guests as Marcus pointed a sharp, commanding finger directly into her face, his voice echoing through the church.
Marcus: Leave right now, or I'll have security drag you out into the street.
Patricia gathered her purse with shaking hands, her face burning as she fled down the aisle. Marcus turned back toward the altar, stepping gently up the stairs to take Elena's trembling hands.
Marcus: I'M SO SORRY, MY LOVE... WE ARE MARRYING RIGHT NOW.
He wiped a tear from her cheek, holding her close as the guests burst into loud cheers. But as Patricia ran out the heavy doors, Elena knew this wedding confrontation was only the beginning of a much bigger war over her family's hidden inheritance.
