The Confrontation Grows

Her Mother-In-Law Took The House Keys Until An Uninvited Guest Walked In banner

Eleanor: I will not give her anything! I built this family's reputation!

Chloe: You built a lie, Eleanor. You used Ethan's inheritance money to pay off your personal gambling debts!

The wedding guests began to whisper loudly among themselves around the marble ballroom.

Ethan: Gambling debts? What is she talking about, Mom?

Arthur: Your mother lost eight hundred thousand dollars at the casino in Atlantic City last year, Ethan.

Eleanor: Arthur! You sworn attorney confidentiality!

Arthur: Attorney confidentiality does not cover active fraud and grand larceny, Eleanor.

Chloe: She forged Ethan's signature on a second mortgage two months ago.

Ethan: A second mortgage?! On our home?!

Eleanor: I was going to pay it back! I had a sound investment strategy!

Ethan: You mortgaged my house to cover your casino losses?!

Ethan stepped between Chloe and his mother, his chest heaving with rage.

Ethan: I trusted you! I let you treat Chloe like trash because you said you were trying to keep our family safe!

Eleanor: She turned you against me! Can't you see that?!

Chloe: You turned him against you the moment you decided to steal his future, Eleanor.

Arthur: Ethan, if you sign these revocation papers right now, we can lock the bank accounts before she transfers the remaining balance tonight.

Eleanor: Don't you dare sign those papers, Ethan! If you sign them, I will lose everything!

Ethan: You should have thought about that before you stole from your own son.

Ethan reached out, taking the silver pen from Arthur's hand without hesitation.

Eleanor: Ethan, stop! I am your mother!

Ethan: A mother doesn't ruin her child's life to cover her own greed.

Ethan pressed the pen to the paper, signing his name in smooth, sharp strokes across the bottom line.

Arthur: It is official. All trust accounts are now locked under Ethan and Chloe's joint names.

Eleanor gasped, reaching out to grab the signed document from the table, but Chloe snatched it away first.

Chloe: Touch this paper and I swear I'll have the guards throw you out through the front glass doors.

Eleanor: You arrogant little snake!

Ethan: Hand over the keys, Mom. Last chance.

Eleanor stood frozen, her eyes darting toward the ballroom exit as two uniformed police officers walked through the double doors.
