The Arrest At Last

My Angry Ex-Husband Tried To Steal Our Daughter's Trust Fund banner

Officer Miller: YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!

Officer Miller, a broad-shouldered police officer in full tactical uniform, burst into the kitchen with his hands on his duty belt.

David: What the hell?! Who called you?!

Officer Miller: On the floor! Right now!

David: This is a private family dispute! Get out of my house!

Officer Miller: It's not your house, Mr. Evans! Get on the ground face down!

David lunged toward the back patio door, attempting to make a quick escape toward the yard. Officer Miller closed the distance in two fast steps, grabbing David by his heavy blue denim shirt and wrapping his arm around David's shoulders. With a powerful twist, the officer tackled David face down onto the hard kitchen floor.

A loud groan escaped David's chest as his breath was knocked out of him. The bank papers and legal documents scattered across the floor like autumn leaves.

David: Ow! Stop! You're breaking my arm!

Officer Miller: Stop resisting! Hands behind your back!

David: I have a lawyer! You can't do this to me!

Officer Miller: You just assaulted a woman in front of a minor, Mr. Evans. You have the right to remain silent!

Laura crawled across the floor toward her daughter, her eyes streaming with fresh tears of relief. Lily jumped down from her dining chair and ran straight into her mother's arms.

Laura: I'm here with you... It's okay, baby. Mommy's got you.

Lily: Mommy, is the bad man going away?

Laura: Yes, sweetie. He's never coming back here again.

Officer Miller pulled David's hands behind his back, snapping heavy steel handcuffs tightly around his wrists. The metallic clicking sound rang clearly through the quiet kitchen.

David: Laura, tell him to take these off! Tell him we were just having a disagreement!

Laura: A disagreement? You slapped me across the face and threw me to the floor!

David: I lost my temper! You know how much pressure I'm under with my business loans!

Laura: Pressure doesn't give you the right to put your hands on me or scare our daughter!

David: I'm her father, Laura! You can't strip away my custody rights over one little mistake!

Officer Miller: One little mistake? Sir, your neighbor pressed the panic button on your ex-wife's security app five minutes ago when he heard you screaming through the window.

David: That nosey old man next door?! I'll sue him too!

Officer Miller: You're not suing anyone today, David. Get up!

Officer Miller hoisted David off the floor by his arms, forcing him to stand up straight near the doorway.
