Cruel Games In Sunlit Halls

Outraged Father Confronts Relatives Over Abused Daughter Inside Modern Mansion banner

Richard: David, wait! Please, don't walk out that door!

David: Don't come near us, Richard.

Evelyn: Let him leave! Who does he think he is, smashing glass in my house?!

David: Your house? My father bought this estate, Evelyn. You're just a parasite who married into it.

Evelyn: You insolent brat! I am your stepmother!

David: You're nothing to me. And after what you did today, you're dead to this family.

Lily whimpered softly, burying her small face into David's neck.

Lily: Daddy... my arm hurts...

David: I know, sweetie. Daddy's got you. I'm taking you to the doctor right now.

Richard: David, please let me look at her. I didn't know she was hurt like this.

David: You sat right there and toasted with Evelyn while my daughter was crying outside!

Richard: We didn't hear anything! We were inside the kitchen the whole time!

David: Because you were too busy drinking thousand-dollar wine paid for by my trust fund!

Evelyn wiped a drop of red wine from her sleeve, her eyes flashing with hatred.

Evelyn: She was playing near the rose garden! I told her to stay away, but she didn't listen!

David: She's six years old, Evelyn! You pushed her into the thorny bushes!

Evelyn: I didn't push her! I merely gave her a nudge to teach her some discipline!

David: A nudge?! She has cuts down her arms and a bruise forming on her cheek!

Evelyn: She's weak, just like her mother was. A little scratch won't kill her.

David took a slow step toward Evelyn, his knuckles turning white as he clutched Lily.

David: Say one more word about my late wife. Go ahead. Say it.

Richard: Evelyn, keep your mouth shut! You've said enough!

Evelyn: Don't yell at me, Richard! You promised me we would control the estate once David was out of the picture!

David: Is that what this is about? The estate trust?

Richard: David, no... that's not true. She's just hysterical.

David: My father left fifty percent of the family business to Lily in his will. You thought you could scare us into leaving?

Evelyn: A six-year-old child shouldn't own half a logistics corporation!

David: She owns it because my father knew what kind of people you really were.

Evelyn: Your father was an old fool who let his emotions blind him!

David: My father was a good man. And tomorrow morning, my divorce lawyer and corporate attorneys are filing a full investigation.

Richard's face paled even further, his hands beginning to shake.

Richard: David, an investigation into what?

David: Into the quarter-million dollars missing from the family accounts. And into how Evelyn got her hands on my father's medical records before he passed away.

Evelyn: You can't prove anything!

David: I don't have to prove it yet, Evelyn. The police will do that for me.
