Clara: Are you hurt, sweetie? Look at me, are you okay?
Lily: I was so scared in the dark... it was so cold.
Clara: I've got you. Nobody is going to hurt you ever again.
Clara wrapped her sequin dress around the shivering child, lifting her gently off the dusty marble floor.
Richard stood frozen in place, holding the heavy axe at his side while the black-tie guests stared at him in complete disbelief.
Evelyn: Richard... is that a child? Whose child is that in your wall?
Richard: Everyone remain calm! This is a complete misunderstanding!
Clara: A misunderstanding?! You locked a eight-year-old girl behind a hidden wall inside your mansion!
Richard: Shut your mouth, Clara! You don't know what you're talking about!
Clara: I know exactly what I see! You put a painting over a hollow room to hide her from the guests!
Richard: This is private estate business! All of you, leave the hallway immediately!
None of the guests moved. A prominent local judge step forward from the crowd, his face grave as he looked at Richard.
Judge Vance: Richard, you better start explaining this right now before I call the federal authorities myself.
Richard: Vance, listen to me. This girl is an unauthorized trespassing risk.
Clara: She's not a trespasser, Judge Vance. She's my niece, Lily!
Evelyn: Your niece? But your sister Sarah passed away six months ago in that car accident!
Clara: That's what Richard told all of us! He told the family that Sarah died alone and left no children behind!
Lily: Mommy told me to stay quiet... she said Grandpa Richard would get mad if I made noise.
Clara: Did you hear that, Richard? She called you Grandpa!
Richard dropped the axe onto the floor with a heavy metallic clang, his face turning an icy shade of white.
Richard: She doesn't know what she's saying. The child is confused.
Clara: She's not confused! You hid Sarah's daughter so you could claim my sister's entire estate trust!
Richard: I am the sole executor of the Sterling family trust fund!
Clara: You were the executor until Sarah had a child! The trust documents state that if Sarah had an heir, forty percent of the estate goes directly to her daughter!
Evelyn: My God, Richard... did you steal your own granddaughter's inheritance?
Richard: Evelyn, stay out of this! I managed this estate for thirty years!
Clara: You didn't manage it, you bled it dry! You took out a twelve-million-dollar mortgage on this mansion to cover your failed investments!
Richard: Silence! You have no right to speak to me like this in my own house!
Clara: It's not your house anymore, Richard. The police are already pulling into the driveway.
