Julian: What?! Grab him!
Julian's two thugs turned around to lunge at Marcus, but the sound of loud police sirens echoed from the street below.
Heavy footsteps thundered up the apartment building's concrete staircase as four uniformed police officers rushed into the narrow hallway with their handguns drawn.
Police Officer: Police! Don't move! Put your hands in the air right now!
Julian: Wait! This is a private property dispute! I'm her employer!
Police Officer: On the wall, right now! Move!
The officers slammed the two thugs against the hallway wall, pulling their arms back and snapping heavy metal handcuffs around their wrists.
An officer grabbed Julian by his collar, spinning him around and shoving his face against the plaster wall.
Julian: Ow! Hey! I didn't do anything wrong! I was just collecting past-due rent!
Police Officer: You broke down a locked residential door, threatened two civilians, and confessed to corporate espionage on a live federal recording.
Julian: That lawyer trapped me! He set me up!
Marcus: You set yourself up, Julian. Your greed made you foolish.
Chloe stepped forward, holding her younger brother tightly against her side as she looked Julian directly in his panicking eyes.
Chloe: You treated me like dirt for two years, Julian. You made me feel like I was worth nothing.
Julian: Chloe... please! Tell them it was all a misunderstanding! I can get you a promotion at the restaurant! You can be assistant manager!
Chloe: I don't need your job anymore, Julian. In fact, Mr. Hayes just bought the controlling shares of your restaurant chain this afternoon.
Julian stared at her in complete shock, his jaw dropping open.
Julian: What... what did you say?
Marcus: Chloe is now the primary owner of The Grand Bistro, Julian. And as her lead counsel, my first order of business is your immediate termination without severance.
Julian: No! You can't do this to me! I have a mortgage!
Chloe: Take him away, Officer.
The officers dragged Julian and his two hired thugs down the hallway as Julian screamed obscenities and begged for mercy.
Toby looked at his sister, tears of relief filling his eyes as he hugged her tightly.
Toby: Is it really over, Chloe? Are we safe now?
Chloe: We're safe, Toby. Tomorrow morning, we take back everything that belongs to our family.
Marcus: Get some sleep tonight, both of you. Tomorrow, the whole city is going to learn who Chloe Sterling really is.
