The Public Exposure

Evelyn: Julian Vance!

The entire doorway was filled with gasping family members and executive board officers from the Vance Financial Group.

Julian: Mom! Please, don't look! Everyone, get out!

Evelyn: Shut your mouth!

Evelyn stepped into the bathroom, her high heels clicking rapidly against the marble floor. She marched straight toward the edge of the Jacuzzi.

Julian: Mom, wait! Let me put a towel on!

Evelyn reached over the tile edge, grabbed Julian by his wet shirt collar, and pulled him upward with incredible strength.

Julian: Mom, stop!

Evelyn raised her hand and slapped him across the face with a sharp, violent crack that echoed off the high ceiling.

Julian: AGH!

Julian recoiled in pain, clutching his reddened, burning cheek as water splashed everywhere.

Evelyn: YOU SHAMELESS MAN!

Julian: Mom! You slapped me in front of the board?!

Evelyn: I should throw you out on the street without a single shirt on your back!

Chloe shrank further into the corner of the Jacuzzi, covering her face in complete embarrassment.

Chloe: Ma'am, I didn't know he was married! He told me he lived here alone!

Evelyn: Be quiet, you foolish girl! Get your things and get out of my sight before I call security!

Victoria stood near the marble vanity, folding her arms with an ice-cold smirk on her lips.

Victoria: NOW EVERYONE SEES THE TRUTH.

Julian: Victoria! You set me up! You told Mom the board meeting was held in our mansion today!

Victoria: I didn't set you up, Julian. You chose to bring your mistress into our home on our anniversary.

Uncle Arthur: This is appalling. The family estate has never seen such disgrace.

Evelyn: YOU HAVE DISHONORED THIS ENTIRE FAMILY!

Julian: Mom, please! It was a mistake! A huge mistake!

Evelyn: A mistake?! On your tenth anniversary?! While your wife was preparing to announce our new charitable foundation?!

Julian: I was under a lot of stress with the company!

Evelyn: Do not blame your weakness on the company! Get out of that water right now!

Julian scrambled out of the Jacuzzi, dripping wet, grabbing a robe off the hook with shaking hands.

Julian: Mom, let's go into the office and talk about this privately.

Evelyn: There is nothing private about your moral failure, Julian.

Victoria stepped past the group of horrified relatives, her head held high and her movements smooth and composed.

Victoria: I'll leave you to handle your son, Evelyn. My divorce lawyer is waiting downstairs in the library.

Julian: Victoria, wait! Don't do this! We can work this out!

Victoria: Ten years of lies end today, Julian.

Victoria walked away through the bright glass doors into the daylight, leaving her husband cowering before his furious mother and the entire family council.
