The bright morning light poured through the tall glass windows, illuminating the spacious, modern living room with its polished white floors and sleek walls. What was supposed to be a joyful weekend gathering among close friends had instantly turned into a nightmare of accusations and screaming matches. Samantha stood in the middle of the room in her dark leather trench coat, her arm outstretched, pointing an accusing finger directly at her long-time friend, Chloe.
Samantha: YOU HAVE IT! YOU'RE A THIEF!
Chloe: Samantha, stop this! I don't have your missing watch!
Samantha: Don't lie to everyone! It was right on the side table before you walked over there!
Mark: Guys, please, let's just calm down and look around carefully.
Samantha: No, Mark! I am not calming down until she empties her pockets and her bag right now!
Chloe: I am not going to let you search through my personal things like I'm a criminal!
Samantha: You hear that, everyone? That's the response of a guilty person who got caught red-handed!
Jessica: Samantha, Chloe has been our friend for five years. She would never steal from anyone.
Samantha: Money makes people do crazy things, Jessica! She's broke and everybody knows it!
Chloe stared at Samantha, her heart pounding against her ribs as her voice trembled with hurt and anger.
Chloe: I opened my home to you today. I invited all of you over for lunch, and you treat me like this?
Samantha: Cut the innocent act, Chloe! Give me back my diamond watch or I am calling the police!
Chloe: Go ahead! Call them! But before you do that, maybe you should look up at the wall behind you!
Samantha: What are you talking about?!
Chloe: My husband installed a smart security system last week. And that big TV screen is playing the live camera feed.
Samantha turned her head toward the wall, and the sudden realization of what was displayed on the screen made her entire world crash down in an instant.
