At noon, three black luxury sedans pulled up to the grand gates of the Vance estate. Servants rushed to open the front doors, lining up along the marble hallway just as they had done days before.

The door of the center sedan opened, and a tall woman stepped out onto the driveway. She wore an elegant white designer suit, dark sunglasses, and a diamond necklace that shimmered in the sunlight.
