Julian: Two hours?! Clara, my mother has a heart condition!
Clara: She seemed healthy enough when she threw me into a glass cabinet last week.
Evelyn: I will sue you for illegal eviction! My lawyers will have you in court by tomorrow!
Attorney Hayes: Your personal accounts were frozen one hour ago due to the corporate tax fraud investigation, Mrs. Vance. You can't afford a retainer fee.
Evelyn: What tax fraud?! That's a lie!
Clara: Did you really think your chief accountant wouldn't talk once the offshore accounts were flagged?
Julian fell back onto the sofa, burying his head in his hands as the reality of their destruction set in.
Julian: It's over... everything is gone...
Evelyn: Get up, Julian! Stand up and fight her!
Julian: Fight her with what, Mother?! We don't have a dollar left!
Butler: Ms. Sterling? Should we start moving their suitcases to the street?
Clara: Leave their clothes. Take only the items paid for by Vance Enterprise funds. Everything else belongs to the bank assets.
Evelyn: You want me to leave with nothing?!
Clara: That's exactly how you sent me out in the rain, Evelyn. You even kept my mother's silver ring.
Clara held out her hand, staring directly into Evelyn's bloodshot eyes.
Clara: Give it back.
Evelyn: I lost it! I threw it away!
Butler: Excuse me, Ms. Sterling. Mrs. Vance put it in her bedroom safe yesterday.
Evelyn: You traitorous servant!
Butler: You haven't paid our wages in two months, Mrs. Vance. Ms. Sterling just paid all of our back pay with interest.
Clara smiled softly at the butler, nodding in appreciation as he walked upstairs to fetch the ring box.
Julian: Clara... if I sign the divorce settlement without contesting, will you drop the fraud charges against my mother?
Clara: The state prosecutor handles criminal charges, Julian. I don't control the law. I just supplied the evidence.
