Marcus: You planned this. You've been looking for an excuse to leave me all along.
Clara: No, Marcus. I was hoping you would finally change and become the man I thought I fell in love with.
Marcus: And now you're giving up? Just like that?
Clara: I'm not giving up. I'm choosing myself over your toxic insecurities.
Marcus: Clara, please. Look at me. Look at what we built together in this house.
Clara glanced around the luxurious kitchen, taking in the marble counters, the high-end appliances, and the cold white walls.
Clara: It's a gorgeous house, Marcus. But it's also a prison.
Marcus: It doesn't have to be a prison! We can lock the doors, turn off our phones, and focus entirely on each other starting today.
Clara: Isolation isn't love, Marcus. Keeping me away from my friends and colleagues isn't devotion; it's control.
Marcus: I only wanted to keep you safe from people who don't have your best interests at heart!
Clara: The only person in my life who has ever actively tried to break me down is standing right across this kitchen island.
Marcus stepped forward quickly, reaching out to grab her arm before she could turn toward the hallway.
Marcus: You are not leaving today, Clara. We are going to sit down at this table and talk like adults.
Clara: Let go of my arm right now, Marcus. That's assault.
Marcus: I am your fiancé! I have a right to stop you from making a catastrophic mistake!
Clara: I said let go!
Clara twisted her arm sharply, using her leverage to break his grip before shoving him backward against the pantry door.
Marcus: Jesus, Clara... you're actually violent.
Clara: That's called self-defense against a man who refuses to respect physical boundaries.
Marcus stared at his hands in mock disbelief, shaking his head as he tried to flip the narrative back onto her.
Marcus: You've changed so much. The old Clara would never have acted like this.
Clara: The old Clara was too exhausted from crying to stand up for herself. You're never going to see that version of me again.
Marcus took a deep, shaky breath, realizing his intimidation tactics were failing completely.
Marcus: Fine. Go. Pack your bags and get out of my sight.
Clara: I've already packed my essential documents and clothes in the guest room closet. Movers are coming for the rest tomorrow morning while you're at the firm.
