Damien: Julian! Listen to me! My mother needs medical attention right now!
Julian: She'll get her medicine after she signs the estate release form, Damien.
Damien: She can barely stand! You poisoned her with a sedative!
Julian: It's just a mild tranquilizer. She'll wake up fine in a few hours once we dock in Nassau.
Damien: Nassau? The flight plan was set for Palm Beach!
Julian: Plans change when eighty million dollars is on the line, my friend.
The sound of Julian's footsteps faded down the hallway above, leaving only the loud hum of the ship's engines.
Eleanor: Damien... what are we going to do?
Damien: Don't panic, Mom. There's an emergency service ladder near the generator room.
Eleanor: Does it lead to the main deck?
Damien: It leads to the rear swim platform behind the engine exhaust.
Damien led his mother past the hot pipes toward the back corner of the lower bay.
Damien: Step over these wires carefully. It's slippery here.
Eleanor: I'm trying... my head is spinning so fast.
Damien: Rest against this workbench for a second. Let me clear the hatch latch.
Damien grabbed an iron wrench from the maintenance rack, jamming the flat end into the emergency hatch lock above the ladder.
Damien: Come on... turn...
With a loud metallic pop, the rusted latch gave way, letting bright sunlight stream into the dark room.
Eleanor: You opened it!
Damien: Shh. Stay quiet. The swim platform is right outside.
Damien climbed up first, pulling his mother up onto the teak wood deck at the back of the yacht.
The ocean wind blew hard against them, spraying cold saltwater across their faces.
Eleanor: The boat is moving so fast...
Damien: We're heading southeast. Julian wasn't lying about Nassau.
Eleanor: Where are the guests?
Damien: They're probably still in the main dining salon drinking Evelyn's champagne.
Damien crept along the side railing of the lower deck, looking up toward the upper lounge windows.
Damien: Stay behind these life rafts, Mom. I'm going to get my phone from the stateroom.
Eleanor: Don't leave me alone, Damien!
Damien: I'll be back in two minutes. I need my satellite phone to call the authorities directly.
Damien slipped through the sliding side door into the guest cabin hallway.
He reached his room and grabbed a small black case from his leather duffel bag.
Evelyn: Looking for this, Damien?
Damien turned around quickly. Evelyn stood in the doorway holding a glass of wine, a cold smile on her face.
Damien: Give me that case, Evelyn.
Evelyn: You really thought you were smarter than your father, didn't you?
Damien: My father trusted you, and you're trying to ruin his legacy!
Evelyn: Your father left me a tiny fraction of his wealth while leaving your mother the entire holding trust!
Damien: Because she built that company with him for thirty years before you even met him!
Evelyn: Well, now it's my turn to inherit what I deserve.
Julian stepped into the doorway behind her, holding a thick folder filled with legal documents.
Julian: Hand over the satellite phone, Damien. Don't make this difficult.
