Thomas: Mr. Sterling! I brought the legal files from your father's office safe.
Julian turned around in the quiet hospital waiting room, his eyes red from holding back tears.
Julian: Did you find the original trust documents, Thomas?
Thomas: Yes, sir. And I found something much worse inside Evelyn's private desk drawer.
Thomas handed a thick leather folder to Julian, opening it to reveal a stack of financial bank records.
Julian: What is this?
Thomas: Evelyn has been draining your father's estate accounts for the last two years, transferring funds to offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands.
Julian: How much did she take?
Thomas: Over four million dollars, sir. She was planning to flee the country next month.
Julian: That's why she wanted Clara out of the house! Clara found out about the estate audit!
Thomas: Exactly, sir. Mrs. Sterling asked the accountant for the estate tax records three days ago.
Julian gripped the leather folder so tightly his knuckles turned white.
Julian: She tried to kill my wife and child just to cover up her financial theft!
Thomas: The police detective is on his way here right now to take these documents into evidence.
The double doors of the trauma bay opened, and Dr. Vance walked out pulling off his surgical mask.
Julian: Doctor! How is she?! How is my baby?!
Dr. Vance: Take a deep breath, Mr. Sterling. I have good news.
Julian let out a long, shaky breath, leaning against the wall for support.
Dr. Vance: The ultrasound shows no internal bleeding or placental detachment. Your baby girl is completely unharmed.
Julian: Thank God... oh, thank God...
Dr. Vance: We stitched up the glass cuts on Clara's arms and hands. She needs a few days of rest and strict bed care, but she is going to make a full recovery.
Julian: Can I see her now?
Dr. Vance: Room 402. She's awake and asking for you.
Julian rushed down the corridor, pushing open the door to Room 402 with a gentle touch.
Clara lay in the hospital bed, her hands wrapped in white bandages, but a small, tired smile touched her lips as she saw him.
Julian: Hey, beautiful...
Clara: Did you hear, Julian? Our little girl is safe.
Julian: I heard, baby. I heard.
Julian walked over to the bed, leaning down to press a soft, long kiss against her forehead.
Julian: I am never letting anyone hurt you again. Evelyn is going to prison for a very long time.
Clara: What about the house? The estate files she forged?
Julian: Thomas found all the evidence, Clara. She stole millions, and the police have everything they need to lock her away forever.
Clara: I was so scared I was going to lose you and the baby...
Julian: You're never going to lose us, Clara. You are my whole world.
