A New Order Established

She Splashed Water On The Woman In Grey, Unaware She Held The Gold Seal banner

Three months later, the atmosphere in the high-rise office building had completely transformed. The tense, fearful silence that once hung over the halls was gone. Employees talked openly in the lounge, laughing over coffee without looking nervously over their shoulders.

Sarah Jenkins, the new head of marketing, walked into Evelyn's corner office carrying a stack of revised quarterly figures.

Sarah: Miss Sterling? The campaign metrics for Q3 are in.

Evelyn: How are the numbers looking, Sarah?

Sarah: Our revenue is up twenty-four percent. The new team structure is working better than expected.

Evelyn: Excellent work. Make sure the junior team gets their performance bonuses on Friday.

Sarah: They're already thrilled. Nobody can believe how much things have improved since... well, since the change.

Evelyn: Since Tiffany Vance threw water in my face?

Sarah offered a small, polite smile.

Sarah: I still can't believe she didn't know who you were that morning.

Evelyn: Arrogance blinds people, Sarah. She saw a plain suit and assumed I was defenseless.

Sarah: Speaking of Tiffany... her trial ended this morning.

Evelyn leaned back in her high-backed leather chair, taking a slow sip of hot tea.

Evelyn: What was the verdict?

Sarah: Guilt on all counts. She was sentenced to six years in federal prison. Her father got twelve.

Evelyn: Actions have consequences. It took them too long to learn that lesson.

Sarah: The court ordered full restitution. Everything they owned is officially sold off.

Evelyn: Good. The funds will go straight into our employee pension reserve.

Sarah nodded gratefully, turning to leave the office.

Sarah: Thank you for standing up for us, Miss Sterling. That day changed everything for this company.

Evelyn: You don't need to thank me for doing what was right, Sarah.

Evelyn looked out her floor-to-ceiling glass windows at the sprawling New York skyline. The sun was shining brightly, illuminating the marble lounge where Tiffany had once thought she ruled the world.
