Margaret: She showed me a letter with your official signature, Dad. It had the federal seal on it.
William: Victoria had access to my desk at the firm. She was my senior paralegal!
Margaret: She told me you blamed me for Mom's illness. She said you never wanted to see my face again.
William: I spent three hundred thousand dollars hiring private investigators to track you down!
Noah looked between his mother and grandfather, pulling on William's sleeve gently.
Noah: Mom, I told you the ring would work! The guard didn't arrest me!
Margaret: Noah... Oh honey, come here.
Margaret dropped to her knees, pulling Noah into her arms and sobbing into his shoulder.
Margaret: I was so terrified she would take you away from me too.
William: Nobody is taking anyone away ever again. Officer Miller, are you recording this conversation?
Officer Miller: Yes, sir. My body camera has been active since we left the lobby gates.
William: Good. Because we are walking straight into the federal prosecutor's office on the fourth floor.
Margaret: Is Victoria still working for your firm, Dad?
William: She isn't just working for the firm, Margaret. She appointed herself managing director of the family estate trust two years ago.
Margaret: How could she do that without my consent?
William: She declared you legally deceased after filing a false missing persons report seven years ago.
Margaret: Deceased?! I've been working two shifts at a diner fifty miles away just to pay rent!
William: She stole over four million dollars that your mother left directly to you and Noah.
William pulled the gold signet ring out of his pocket and slipped it onto his own pinky finger.
William: Look at this inscription, Margaret. "W.H. & M.E. - Always back by Christmas."
Margaret: You gave that to Mom on your first anniversary.
William: And I gave it to you the night before you disappeared from your college dormitory.
Margaret: Victoria came to my room that night. She told me the police were on their way to arrest me for bank fraud.
William: Bank fraud? What were you twenty-two years old, Margaret!
Margaret: She showed me fake bank statements with my forged signature. I was terrified. I ran away that same night.
William: She set you up from the very beginning. She wanted the entire Harrison family trust for herself.
Noah: Grandpa, is the mean lady inside the big building right now?
William: Yes, Noah. She is upstairs in the boardroom right now, signing quarterly financial reports.
William: And we are going to interrupt her meeting.
