A Family Reunited

That afternoon, the family walked together through the peaceful green gardens of the city cemetery.

They stopped in front of a white marble headstone inscribed with the name: "Eleanor Harrison - Loving Wife and Mother."

Margaret set a fresh bouquet of white roses against the base of the headstone, her eyes filled with peaceful tears.

Margaret: I'm home, Mom. I'm finally home.

William: She never stopped believing you would come back to us, Margaret. Not for a single day.

Noah reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the gold signet ring, looking at the inscription once more.

Noah: Grandpa, can I hold the ring for safe keeping?

William: That ring belongs to you now, Noah. It saved our family twice—once when I gave it to your mother, and once when you brought it to me.

Noah slipped the ring onto his thumb, holding his hand up against the bright afternoon sky.

Noah: "Always back by Christmas." What does that mean, Grandpa?

William: It means that no matter how far away you get lost in this world, family will always find a way back home to each other.

Margaret wrapped her arm around her father's waist, resting her head gently against his shoulder.

Margaret: I missed you so much, Dad.

William: I missed you too, my sweet girl. But we have all the time in the world now.

As the sun began to set over the city skyline, casting a warm golden glow across the quiet gardens, the three of them walked hand in hand back toward the entrance gates.

The long, dark nightmare of ten lost years was finally over, replaced by the bright promise of a future they would share together forever.
