The Truth Exposed

The marshal grabbed Victoria's arm, spinning her around and snapping the handcuffs tightly onto her wrists.

Victoria: You're making a huge mistake! My lawyers will have this dismissed in an hour!

Officer Miller: Ma'am, we have complete audio and video recordings of your confession in the lobby and hallways.

Victoria: William, please! Think about the reputation of the firm! We can settle this quietly!

William: You showed no mercy to a scared twenty-two-year-old girl, Victoria. You will get zero mercy from me.

The marshals escorted the screaming woman out of the boardroom and toward the service elevators.

The remaining board members stood up from their chairs, looking at Margaret with deep embarrassment and regret.

Board Member 1: Margaret... We had no idea. Victoria presented signed medical records and death notices.

Margaret: She spent ten years isolating my father so none of you would ever ask questions.

William: Effective immediately, I am dissolving the current management committee.

Board Member 2: William, the quarterly dividends need to be distributed by Friday!

William: All dividend distributions are frozen until my primary legal heir, Margaret Vance, is fully reinstated as Vice President of the Estate.

Margaret looked at her father in shock, clutching the wooden jewelry box in her hands.

Margaret: Vice President? Dad, I've been working as a waitress for ten years. I don't know how to run a corporate estate.

William: You graduated top of your class in finance before that monster drove you away, Margaret. You have your mother's brain and my determination.

Noah: Can I have an office here too, Grandpa?

William laughed softly, kneeling down on the carpet to hug the young boy again.

William: You can have the biggest office on the top floor, Noah. You're the one who saved this family today.

Noah: I just brought the ring like Mom told me to.

William: That ring brought my entire life back to me, son.

William took Margaret's hand, leading her out of the boardroom and back toward the private executive office suite.

William: Let's go look at your new home, my dear.
