The Truth Revealed To Sarah

Julian walked down the polished hallway toward the spacious estate kitchen. The scent of fresh coffee and warm pastries filled the bright air.

Sarah was sitting at the wooden kitchen island, holding a cup of tea while Emma sat beside her, coloring a picture of a sunny garden with crayons.

Sarah: Mr. Moreno... is everything alright with Mr. Richard?

Julian: Everything is taken care of, Sarah. You don't ever have to worry about Richard again.

Sarah: Did he find his watch, sir?

Julian: He didn't lose his watch, Sarah. He pawned it to cover his personal debts, and he tried to blame you to force you off the property.

Sarah set her teacup down, her hands trembling as she looked at Julian in utter disbelief.

Sarah: Why would he want me off the property so badly? I've worked here quietly for two years...

Julian: Because he was afraid you would find out the truth about your late husband, David.

Sarah froze, her eyes widening as she clutched Emma's small hand across the table.

Sarah: David? What does David have to do with Mr. Richard?

Julian: Sarah, four years ago, my father passed away. But before he died, he created a secret trust fund for David and your family.

Sarah: A trust fund? David never mentioned a trust fund...

Julian: Because David died before my father could present the final papers to the court. Richard stole those papers and hid them in his safe.

Julian pulled the Sealed manila envelope from his suit jacket and laid the yellowed legal document gently on the wooden island in front of Sarah.

Julian: Read page three, Sarah.

Sarah picked up the document with shaking fingers, her eyes moving rapidly across the handwritten text.

Tears began to pour down her cheeks, dripping onto the yellow paper as she read the final lines.

Sarah: Ten percent... of Moreno Enterprises... for Emma?

Julian: Ten percent of the voting stock, Sarah. Today, that stock is worth over twenty-five million dollars.

Sarah: Twenty-five million dollars?! My God... David always said Mr. Moreno senior was generous, but I never imagined...

Julian: My father loved David like a son, Sarah. David saved our logistics division from bankruptcy eight years ago.

Emma: Mommy, why are you crying? Is Mr. Moreno mad at us?

Sarah pulled Emma into a tight embrace, kissing the top of her head while crying tears of pure relief.

Sarah: No, sweetie... Mr. Moreno isn't mad. He just gave us our life back.

Julian: You don't have to wear that apron anymore, Sarah. And Emma doesn't ever have to hold a broom again.

Sarah: How can I ever thank you, Mr. Moreno? You could have kept this secret and saved your family's company from scandal...

Julian: My father raised me to be an honest man, Sarah. Protecting my stepbrother's crimes would have destroyed everything my father stood for.

Suddenly, the kitchen doors swung open, and Richard stepped inside, his suit coat gone, his tie loosened around his neck.

Richard: Sarah! Don't listen to him! That document is a fake created by Julian to strip me of my shares!

Julian: Richard, get out of this kitchen right now.

Richard: I have rights as a co-executor of this estate! You can't hand over company stock to a maid based on a draft handwritten letter!

Emma cowered behind her mother, holding onto Sarah's apron as Richard stepped aggressively toward the kitchen island.

Julian stepped directly in front of Richard, his physical presence completely blocking his stepbrother's path.

Julian: Stand back, Richard. You're scaring the child.

Richard: I don't care about the child! That stock belongs to the Moreno bloodline!

Julian: Then you can explain your definition of bloodline to the board of directors and the state prosecutor, because I just called both of them five minutes ago.

Richard stared at Julian in absolute terror as the sound of distant police sirens echoed from the estate driveway outside.
