Miller: This is a bluff! Show me your credentials right now!
Clara: Reach into my bag, Officer. The black leather folder in the front zipper.
The junior guard carefully reached into Clara's bag, pulling out a heavy gold badge embedded in a leather wallet.
He flipped it open, his eyes widening as he read the title printed under her photo.
Junior Guard: Oh, man... Officer Miller, look at this.
Miller: Give me that!
Miller snatched the badge, his hands shaking as his eyes scanned the official gold seal and high-level clearance stamp.
Miller: Director... Director Clara Sterling...
Clara: Read the title out loud, Miller. I want everyone in this line to hear it.
Miller: Chief Regional Security Director... Department of Transportation Safety...
Junior Guard: Ma'am... I am so sorry! We had no idea—
Clara: I know you didn't. You were following orders. But Officer Miller here has been abusing his position for months.
Miller: Director Sterling! Please! I was just trying to maintain order in the lane!
Clara: By shoving a civilian to the floor? Is that what your training manual taught you?
Miller: She—I mean, you were walking too close to the secure zone!
Clara: I was standing two feet behind the yellow line, holding my passport in my hand.
Several passengers in the line spoke up, pointing their phones toward Miller.
Passenger: She's telling the truth! He shoved her for no reason at all!
Passenger 2: He was screaming at an old lady five minutes ago, too!
Clara: Hear that, Miller? That's the sound of your reputation catching up to you.
Miller took a step back, his face turning pale white as sweat dripped down his neck.
Miller: Ma'am, please... I have a mortgage to pay! I've been with this security agency for six years!
Clara: And for six years, you've been terrorizing travelers who were too afraid to fight back.
Miller: I can change! I swear I'll take anger management classes! Just don't report this to the board!
Clara: You think this is just about a report? I came here today because four separate anonymous complaints were filed against you this month.
Miller: Anonymous complaints? Those are just bitter passengers who didn't want to take off their shoes!
Clara: One of those complaints came from a junior guard on your own team, Miller.
Miller spun around, glaring furiously at the junior guard standing beside him.
Miller: You... you reported me to head office?
Junior Guard: You forced me to lie on three incident reports last week, Miller! I wasn't going to lose my career for your power trips!
Clara: Quiet down, both of you. We are taking this to the executive office right now.
Miller: Director, please! Can't we handle this internally in the breakroom?
Clara: No, Miller. You wanted a public show of power. Now you get a public show of justice.
