The Fall Of Officer Miller

Police Officer: Officer Miller, turn around and place your hands behind your back.

Miller: Wait! You can't arrest me! I work for airport security! I'm one of you!

Police Officer: You're not one of us, Miller. Put your hands behind your back before we add resisting arrest to your charges.

Miller looked around the room frantically, but every single executive and union official looked away, unwilling to meet his eyes.

Slowly, Miller turned around, tears of humiliation welling up in his eyes as the cold steel handcuffs clicked around his wrists.

Miller: Director Sterling... please... have mercy! I have two kids at home! My wife doesn't work!

Clara: You should have thought about your family before you started bullying innocent people at your checkpoint.

Miller: I was just trying to feel powerful... I was frustrated with my shift...

Clara: That is no excuse. Your power trip ends today.

The police officers grabbed Miller by his arms, escorting him out of the executive suite and down the main corridor of the airport.

Passengers who were waiting near the gates watched in shock as the infamous, aggressive security officer was led past them in handcuffs.

Several people began to cheer and clap, recognizing the man who had treated them like criminals for years.

Inside the boardroom, Clara turned toward the remaining airport executives.

Clara: I want a full audit of every security checkpoint in this facility starting tomorrow morning at 0600 hours.

Airport CEO: Absolutely, Director Sterling. We will cooperate fully with your team.

Clara: Every officer who has more than two passenger complaints on their record will be suspended pending investigation.

Union Rep: Director, that could mean suspending fifteen percent of our lane staff...

Clara: Then suspend them. I would rather have fewer lanes open than have citizens abused in my airport.

Airport CEO: We understand, ma'am. It will be done exactly as you say.

Clara picked up her black bag from the table, checking her watch as she adjusted her shirt.

Clara: I have a flight to catch to Chicago to inspect Terminal 3. Make sure Miller's badge and clearance card are revoked permanently by noon.

Legal Counsel: It's already done, Director.

Clara walked out of the boardroom, her heels clicking firmly against the floor as she headed back toward the security gates.
