Pamela: Mark! Get back here right now! You can't speak to me like that in my own house!
Mark: Keep your mouth shut, Pamela! Don't you dare utter another word to us!
Sarah: Mark... your hands are shaking. Please, let's just get to the car.
Mark: Are you okay, honey? Did she touch you before I walked in?
Sarah: She... she pushed my shoulder when I tried to stand up earlier. She told me I wasn't fit to raise our daughter.
Mark turned back around at the edge of the hallway, his jaw clenched so tight his muscle twitched in his cheek.
Mark: You lay a hand on my wife again, Pamela, and the police will be the ones picking you up off this floor!
Pamela struggled up onto her knees, clutching the edge of the white marble island as she adjusted her blue shirt.
Pamela: The police?! For putting a lazy girl in her place?! I brought you into this world, Mark!
Mark: And you've done nothing but try to destroy my happiness ever since!
Pamela: I saved you from a gold digger! Look at her! She brought nothing into this marriage! No money, no status, no family estate!
Sarah: I worked two jobs to support Mark while he was in law school, Pamela! I never asked your family for a single dime!
Pamela: You worked at a diner! That's pocket change compared to what a real woman of status would bring to the table!
Mark took two steps back toward his mother, his voice dropping into a dangerous, icy whisper that filled the sunlit room.
Mark: My wife has more dignity in her pinky finger than you've had in your entire miserable life.
Pamela: You disrespect your own mother for a waitress?! After everything your father and I built for you?!
Mark: My father built this company, Pamela! You just spent his money while he worked himself into an early grave!
Pamela's face flushed bright red, her manicured fingers digging into the smooth marble counter edge.
Pamela: Your father left everything to me in his will! This house, the family trust fund, the stock portfolio! Everything!
Mark: Is that what you still think, Pamela?
Pamela froze, her posture stiffening as Mark's cold, knowing smile cut through her arrogant defense.
Pamela: What are you talking about? The will was executed four years ago!
Mark: The will you filed with the probate court was an uncertified draft, Pamela. And my father knew exactly what kind of person you were before he died.
Sarah: Mark... you promised you'd wait for the lawyer before bringing that up.
Mark: No, Sarah. She needs to know right now why we are walking out that door and never coming back.
Pamela stood up slowly, her knees slightly wobbly as she smoothed down her blue shirt, trying to regain her regal posture.
Pamela: You're bluffing. Your father loved me! He would never leave his estate to anyone else!
Mark: My father left his entire estate in a sealed trust for his first grandchild, Pamela. The moment Sarah gave birth to Lily three months ago, you ceased to be the executor of this property.
Pamela: That... that's a lie! I am the head of this household!
Mark: You're a squatter in my daughter's house. And your thirty-day notice to vacate was delivered to your attorney ten minutes ago.
