The Miracle at the Estate

Leo: Okay, you can let go now.

Leo pulled his hand back and wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead.

Eleanor: I feel... incredible.

Arthur: Are you sure? Are you just in shock?

Eleanor: I have never felt better in my entire life.

Eleanor shifted in her wheelchair, her face shifting from intense pain to profound relief.

Arthur: Don't move too fast.

Eleanor: I want to stand up.

Arthur: Absolutely not!

Leo: She can stand. It's safe.

Arthur: I am not taking medical advice from a child!

Eleanor: Watch me, Arthur.

Eleanor placed her feet firmly on the light oak floors and pushed herself up.

Charles: Remarkable.

Arthur: I can't believe my eyes.

Eleanor stood tall, smiling widely as she began crying tears of pure, overwhelming joy.

Eleanor: The baby kicked.

Arthur: Really?

Eleanor: Feel it! Right here!

Arthur rushed forward and placed his hand on her stomach.

Arthur: It's strong. The kick is so strong.

Eleanor: He saved us, Arthur. He actually saved us.

Arthur turned around slowly, looking at the dirty boy standing near the doorway.

Arthur: I don't know what to say.

Leo: You don't have to say anything.

Arthur: I screamed at you. I told my butler to throw you out.

Leo: People get scared when they love someone.

Arthur: You saved my entire world today.

Leo: I'm glad I was here.

Arthur: Where is your family, Leo?

Leo: I don't have one anymore.

Arthur: You do now.

Eleanor: What are you saying, Arthur?

Arthur: I am calling my adoption lawyer tomorrow morning.

Leo: You don't have to do that.

Arthur: You saved my child. You are going to be a part of this family forever.

Eleanor: Come here, Leo.

Leo smiled, finally stepping forward to hug the woman he had just pulled back from the edge.
