The Forged Land Lease

Julian: Dad, get up! Get up off the floor and stand up to her!

Richard: We can't stand up to her, Julian. She has every bank statement from the last ten years.

Victoria: What about the prenuptial agreement Richard made Arthur sign back in nineties?!

Mr. Harrison: That document was ruled a complete forgery by the state forensic team two hours ago, Mrs. Vance.

Victoria: A forgery?! Richard, did you forge Arthur's signature?!

Richard: I had to, Victoria! You were spending two hundred thousand dollars a month on clothes and trips to Paris!

Julian: Dad! How could you do something so stupid?!

Richard: I did it to keep this family from going under! I thought Clara would never come back from overseas!

Clara walked over to where Richard was kneeling, looking down at the older man with cold, unyielding eyes.

Clara: My father trusted you, Richard. He treated you like a brother when you had nothing.

Richard: Clara... I am so sorry. I lost my way after Arthur passed away.

Clara: You didn't lose your way. You just got greedy.

Victoria: Don't apologize to her, Richard! She's taking everything we worked for!

Clara: You didn't work for anything, Victoria. You lived off my father's sweat while treating his daughter like a slave.

Julian rushed over to Clara, holding his hands up in a desperate gesture of surrender.

Julian: Clara, look at me! We can work this out! I can help you manage the company! We can run Vance Global together!

Clara: Vance Global is being liquidated by noon today, Julian.

Julian: Liquidated?! Hundreds of people work for that company!

Clara: The business assets will be transferred to the Hayes Foundation. The employees will keep their jobs under new management. Only you three are being removed.

Victoria: Removed?! You can't just kick us out onto the street!

Clara: Check page five of the notice in Mr. Harrison's hand, Victoria.

Mr. Harrison pulled an eviction warrant from his briefcase, displaying the red judge's stamp prominently at the bottom of the page.

Mr. Harrison: You have precisely thirty minutes to gather your personal clothing and vacate the estate premises.

Victoria: Thirty minutes?! My wardrobe alone takes three days to pack!

Clara: Then I suggest you start picking your favorite coats, Victoria.
