Julian: Clara, please! I'll apologize publicly! I'll tell the press that I was wrong!
Clara: An apology doesn't fix six months of verbal abuse, Julian.
Julian: I was just following my mother's lead! She's the one who wanted to treat you like a maid!
Victoria: Julian! How dare you throw your own mother under the bus?!
Julian: You're the reason we're in this mess, Mom! You spent all the money!
Victoria: You drove three different sports cars this year, you ungrateful child!
Richard: Stop it! Both of you, just stop shouting!
Clara stood quietly as the three members of the Vance family screamed at each other in the middle of the grand hall, their unity completely shattered by fear and greed.
Clara: It's amazing how fast you turn on each other when the money runs out.
Mr. Harrison: Sheriff Davis is outside with four deputies, Miss Hayes. Should I have them assist with the removal?
Clara: Yes, Mr. Harrison. Bring them in.
The heavy front doors opened again, and Sheriff Davis walked into the hall accompanied by four uniformed officers carrying official paperwork.
Sheriff Davis: Good morning, Miss Hayes. We're here to enforce the eviction warrant for the Hayes Estate.
Victoria: Sheriff! Arrest this woman! She slapped my son and stole my diamond bracelet!
Sheriff Davis looked at Victoria with pity, shaking his head slowly as he pulled a small plastic bag from his pocket.
Sheriff Davis: You mean this bracelet, Mrs. Vance? We found it in your private nightstand drawer ten minutes ago during the preliminary search.
Victoria: I... I must have misplaced it!
Sheriff Davis: Filing a false police report is a felony, ma'am. I suggest you keep quiet while you pack your bags.
Julian slumped against the gold-paneled wall, covering his face with his trembling hands as the reality of his total ruin set in.
Julian: We're bankrupt... we have nowhere to go.
Richard: I have a small apartment in Dallas registered under my old company name... we can go there.
Victoria: An apartment in Dallas?! I can't live in a regular apartment!
Clara: Then you can sleep in your car, Victoria. But you aren't staying here another minute.
