Richard: Sit down right here, Leo. Butler, bring out the best meat, bread, and soup from the kitchen immediately.
Butler: Right away, Mr. Vance.
Leo: Wow... this office is bigger than my whole apartment.
Richard: You can stay as long as you want, Leo. Tell me about your uncle.
Leo: His name is Thomas. He took me in when my mom passed away five years ago. He works twelve hours a day at the bakery to pay our rent.
Richard: Thomas is going to have a new job starting today. I own three commercial bakeries in the city. He can manage any one he chooses.
Leo: Really? You would do that for my uncle?
Richard: It's the least I can do. You gave my daughter her future back.
A knock sounded at the heavy wooden door of the study, and Dr. Harrison, the family's private physician, stepped into the room holding a leather briefcase.
Dr. Harrison: Richard! I came as fast as I could! Victoria called me and said Lily had a medical emergency!
Richard: It wasn't an emergency, Arthur. It was a miracle. Look outside the window.
Dr. Harrison walked over to the large glass window overlooking the courtyard. His jaw dropped as he saw Lily walking through the garden, holding hands with her maid and laughing in the sunshine.
Dr. Harrison: This is... this is scientifically impossible. Her spinal cord was completely severed in the accident two years ago!
Richard: This young man right here touched her hand and healed her in two seconds.
Dr. Harrison: Touched her hand? Richard, are you out of your mind? That's not how medicine works!
Leo: I didn't use medicine, sir. I just used the heat in my hands.
Dr. Harrison: Heat in your hands? This is a dangerous lie! Richard, you need to put Lily back in her chair immediately! Unsupervised movement after a spinal trauma could cause fatal internal bleeding!
Richard: She isn't bleeding, Arthur! She's running! She's jumping!
Dr. Harrison: I demand to run an immediate MRI and physical examination! Victoria was right, this boy could have used a toxic nerve stimulant on her skin!
Leo: I didn't put anything on her skin! I swear!
Richard: Hold on, Arthur. Why are you so eager to put Lily back in that wheelchair? You've been her private doctor for two years, charging me fifty thousand dollars a month for special physical therapy treatments!
Dr. Harrison: I was keeping her comfortable! Her condition was incurable!
Richard: Incurable? Or were you just keeping her sick to line your own pockets?
Dr. Harrison: How dare you question my medical ethics, Richard! I have been this family's doctor for fifteen years!
Richard: Yes, and my late wife died under your care three years ago! Then six months later, I married Victoria, who recommended you for Lily's care!
Dr. Harrison's face turned pale as he pulled his leather briefcase closer to his side.
Dr. Harrison: Victoria is a deeply concerned stepmother! She only wants what is best for the Vance family estate!
Richard: Leave the briefcase on the desk, Arthur.
Dr. Harrison: What? No! These are private medical files protected by law!
Richard: I paid for those files! Leave them on the desk right now, or my security guards will take them from you in the hallway!
